Bill To Prevent Heroin Overdoses Is Awaiting Gov. Dayton's Signature

Posted: Updated:
A new bill aiming to cut down on deaths related to the extremely addictive drug, heroin is just one step away from becoming law in Minnesota.
Steve's Law passed the house and senate yesterday and now awaits Governor Dayton’s signature.
The bill would allow first responders, police officers, and program staffers to carry and use the drug, Narcan, which can reverse the effects of a heroin overdose.
It would also provide immunity to people who call 911 to report a heroin overdose.
