Grain Car Jumps the Tracks in Dilworth

Posted: Updated:
A BNSF spokesperson tells Valley News Live a total of five grain cars derailed this afternoon in the Dilworth Yard. No one was injured, and there was no impact to traffic on the main tracks.

It appears that at least one rail car carrying grain derailed in Dilworth on Wednesday. It happened just east of the 34th Street overpass just south of Highway 10.

It appears that at least three rail cars jumped the track and may still be connected to several others. Grain being carried in one of the car has spilled onto the railroad tracks.

No word on how the rail cars tipped over. Neither Moorhead or Dilworth Police, nor the Clay County Sheriff's Office were called to assist. Valley News Live has reached out to BNSF for comment but have yet to hear back. Stick with Valley News Live for updates on this developing story.
