Kicking Off Cleanup Week

Posted: Updated:
Curbs through the valley are full of unwanted items as Cleanup Week starts Monday morning. It's a good time to declutter your home, or make room for new items.

But before throwing out old items you may want to consider recycling them to the community. Donations to any of the thrift shops are welcome this week if items are still in good shape. Habitat for Humanity ReStore says donated items can be picked up by the company during Cleanup Week for no charge. For questions contact Randy Ahmann 218-284-5253 ext. 2.

If items are set on curbs, city crews want to remind neighbors of Cleanup Week restrictions. Items should be placed in front of your home the morning of your normal garbage collection day. Some items like tires and other things have separate trucks collecting, and may be picked up at a different time.

Each city has other restrictions, to find the guidelines of Cleanup Week just click here.

Many people don't drive curb to curb searching for items they could redecorate, instead they rather buy crafts from vendors or a store. May 10th Eco Chic is holding it's annual Junk Market. The event runs from 8am-10am for an early bird special, then from 10am-5pm for general admission. Tickets for general admission are just $5.
