Posted: Updated:
THURSDAY UPDATE:

Today marks one week since a missing college student in Whapeton was last seen. The search continues for 20-year-old Andrew Sadek.

He was last seen leaving his dorm at North Dakota State College of Science at 2 a.m. on Thursday.

Tonight fellow students and friends came together to support one another. Dozens showed up to share stories and memories. Andrew’s roommate was there, who reported him missing, and he's praying Andrew is found, and returns home.

"I got here and I was just really glad to see the whole gym full, everyone just praying for him rooting for him, the whole community is just up behind him and trying to help out, and that really means a lot to everyone that is missing Sadek right now, to see that," says his roommate, Drew Kugel.

If you have any information regarding Sadek's whereabouts call 701-671-2233.

WEDNESDAY UPDATE:

North Dakota State College of Science is planning a circle of support event for missing student Andrew Sadek.
It will be Thursday (5/8) evening at 5:00 in the Clair T. Blikre Activity Center for all NDSCS students.
The college's media line also says no new searches were conducted today.

MONDAY'S STORY

Parents
of a missing North Dakota State College of Science (NDSCS) student gave an emotional plea for his safe return home. On Monday afternoon, Mother Tammy Sadek thanked the community for their help in searching for her son, and asks that everyone be careful as they continue the search efforts.  John Sadek asked his son, Andrew Sadek, to please come home and said the family needs his help during the busy spring calving season.

The Richland County Sheriff's office continued their search for Andrew Sadek on Monday. Someone left a tip saying they saw a man walking near Tyler, North Dakota, so authorities are looking into that.  Richland County Water Rescue was called to help in the search and have boats in the river.

The 20-year-old
was last seen at about 2:00 a.m. Thursday, May 1. His roommates reported him missing. He was last seen wearing jeans, orange and black Nike tennis shoes, and a black and red sweatshirt with 'FOOTBALL' written across it. He had a black and silver, or a light blue, back pack with him.

ORIGINAL STORY

Police with the North Dakota State College of Science are asking for more community support in their search for a missing student.

Andrew Sadek, 20, was last seen at about 2 a.m. Thursday, May 1. He's a white male, 6 feet tall and about 175 pounds. He has curly brown hair and brown eyes.

He was last seen wearing jeans, orange and black Nike tennis shoes, and a black and red sweatshirt with 'FOOTBALL' written across it. He had a black and silver, or a light blue, back pack with him.

His roommates reported him missing. No has had any contact with Sadek since early Thursday morning.
Sadek is originally from Rogers, North Dakota.

About 50 people joined the search Sunday, taking to the air and the river bank. The campus police department is working with law enforcement agencies and fire departments in Wahpeton, Dwight and Breckenridge. Search efforts wrapped up by 5pm Sunday.

Now, search teams are asking anyone in the community to check rarely used outdoor buildings. They're also curious if anyone offered a ride to a person who matches Sadek's description.

Authorities tell Valley News Live they have no reason to believe Sadek was suicidal.

Search teams will get together Monday for further plans.
