NDHP Trooper Given Legion of Honor Ribbon

Posted: Updated:
A North Dakota trooper is being recognized for his efforts to keep others safe, even after being injured in the line of duty. Jamey Jahner was awarded the Legion of Honor ribbon on Wednesday.

In February of 2013, Jahner was at the scene of a crash on Interstate-94 in West Fargo when his squad was rear-ended. Despite having back and head injuries, Jahner checked on the other driver involved and helped direct traffic around the crash scene.

"When I look back it was just an unfortunate incident that happened. It certainly could have been a lot worse," Jahner said. "I'm just glad the other party was alright and myself came out on the better end of this."

The Legion of Honor award recognizes highway patrol employees injured in the line of duty.
