Free Skin Cancer Screenings at Sanford Health

Ahead of summer fun in the sun, Sanford Dermatology is offering a free skin cancer screening. Skin cancer continues to be a significant concern, one American dies every hour from melanoma and it is the most common cancer in people age 25-29. Sun exposure is the most preventable risk factor for all skin cancers.

If you're interested in getting a free skin cancer screening, appointments are available on Monday, May 5 from 5:30-7:00 p.m. Appointments are required and you can call (701) 234-8860 to schedule one. The screenings are held at the Sanford Dermatology and Laser Clinic is located at 4656 40th Avenue South in Fargo.

If you see something unusual, growing or changing on your skin, call your dermatologist to have it checked out. Sanford dermatologists recommend protecting your skin from the sun by seeking shade when appropriate, wearing protective clothing and generously applying a broad-spectrum, water-resistant sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or more.
