Think about Coats for Kids While Spring Cleaning

Posted: Updated:
As you start the spring cleaning process, the Salvation Army asks that you think about their Coats for Kids spring coat drive. The drive just kicked off and donations can be dropped off at any Hornbacher's location between the dates of April 28 and May 9.

In 2013, 191 adults and 360 children did not receive winter gear during Coats for Kids and Families due to a shortage of donations. The hope this year is to change that by hosting a spring drive, with the help of MSUM social work students, which will encourage people to donate new or gently used items.

Fargo Elementary Schools and various West Fargo Schools are also partnering with The Salvation Army as drop off locations for their students. More information will be sent from the schools to those families it will involve. Through this spring drive, people can either give new or gently used items or donate financially at gofundme.com through our Facebook Page, www.facebook.com/fargosalvationarmy, which allows The Salvation Army to buy needed items for Coats for Kids and Families 2014.

While all winter items are needed, schools age children's winter coats, snow pants, gloves, hats and boots are especially important. Last year 1,259 people received winter gear. This year our goal is to ensure that everyone who needs warm winter gear can receive it.
