Medical Marijuana Bill Passes MN Senate Committee

Posted: Updated:
Just when it looked like the medical marijuana debate in Minnesota was dead for this year, it's back.

A senate committee just passed a new version of it, with some specific limitations.

The bill makes it legal for people with debilitating diseases, like cancer and epilepsy, to use medical marijuana to help symptoms like pain and seizures.

Opponents also say there's not enough research out there on this illegal drug to know if it really works.

Law enforcement opposes the idea of legalizing marijuana for medical reasons.

Governor Dayton says he will stand with them.
