North Dakota State baseball dominated Dakota Wesleyan Tuesday at Newman Outdoor Field. The Bison advance to 12-17 with their 11-1 win over the Tigers.
Wes Satzinger led the charge with a 3-for-4 showing and three RBI. He hit his 15th double of the season in the effort as well. Senior Tim Colwell was 2-for-4 on the day, with two RBI and his fourth triple of the year as Aiden Hook went 2-for-3 with a run batted in.
The Bison offense exploded early with a pair of runs in the first inning on Satzinger's first at-bat of the day. A Tiger throwing error helped push the lead to two till they would find the board in the second.
NDSU pulled away for good with three runs in the fourth and four in the fifth innings. Blake Turbak singled, driving in a pair of runs, Kyle Kleinendorst added another RBI single, followed by a Colwell line-drive, two RBI triple to left field.
Then Satzinger added a two RBI double to left in the fifth inning. The Bison would add one more in the eighth on a Ben Petersen RBI single to solidify the 11-1 win.
Sean Terres earned his first win of the season, to move to 1-0 on the season. He pitched two innings in relief for the Bison, striking out three and walking one batter on 34 pitches while allowing no runs.
