One Man Sent to Hospital and Another to Jail in Home Break-in & Assault

Posted: Updated:
One man was taken to the hospital and another to jail after an alleged home break-in and assault in Grand Forks.

Grand Forks Police were called to the 1100 block of 26th avenue around 3:30 am Tuesday morning on a disturbance call. Officers say a group of men broke into an apartment and attacked the person living there. Joey Wright, 42, of East Grand Forks, was arrested for criminal trespass.

Officers say the victim was taken to the hospital with a cut to the neck. He was treated and released.

A preliminary investigation showed that the men forced their way into an apartment, where they began assaulting the man.

Police say the incident appears related to a separate incident earlier in the night between the same individuals.  There is not believed to be any threat to the general public.
