Water. It's one of those things you just don't think about, unless it stops showing up at your home or business.
That's what happened here in Larimore Wednesday morning, until this morning, when they got their system up and running again, following a somewhat unusual problem.
An underwater pipe inside the treatment plant broke. That pipe feeds treated water to the City's water tower.
A couple of divers from Minot had to be called in… to go down through the water… into this well, inside the plant and fix the pipe.
Dustin Barber, Water Plant: "It's just a pipe, the connection… two pipes. The flange that holds 2 pipes together."
Reporter: "And that's coming out of the main well and that was leaking?"
Barber: "That was leaking. It was just circulating water, instead of being able to send water."
Most folks here took the 24-hour water outage in stride, calling it a minor inconvenience.
Gloria Temple, Larimore: "I don't use much water, when I'm alone."
Reporter: "So, it was no big deal for you?"
Temple: "Not really."
Over at the local bar and lounge you could still get a cool one. It's just that the dishes started to pile up.
Diane Martin, Larimore: "Yes."
Reporter: "So, did you stack them up until the water went on?"
Martin: "Yes, we sure did, ha."
So, the pipes have been flushed and things are back to normal here, even though it took a couple of divers and not a backhoe to restore water to Larimore.
