Suspect Arrested in Comstock Home Invasion

One man is behind bars in relation to a home invasion and assault in Clay County last week. William Dubois Dean was arrested north of Bismarck on Tuesday.

On Thursday, April 10, the Clay County Sheriff's Office responded to a home invasion and burglary in Comstock, Minnesota.  Sheriff Bill Bergquist says Dean entered a home and assaulted someone inside with a weapon.

The victim fought off the assailant and he fled from the home. Authorities say the Dean knows the victim and this was not a random act.

The North Dakota Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) and the Burleigh County Sheriff's Office  traced Dean's location across the state and he was arrested without incident north of Bismarck, North Dakota.

William Dean is being held in the Burleigh County Jail waiting extradition on the following Clay County charges:

1) 2 counts of Attempted Kidnapping
2) 2nd Degree Assault/Dangerous Weapon
3) 1st Degree Burglary/Dwelling
4) 1st Degree Burglary/Assault on person 
5) 1st Degree Burglary/Possession of a Dangerous Weapon
6) 1st Degree/Damage to Property
