Boy Found Inside Toy Vending Machine

Posted: Updated:

It's hard to believe but a three-year-old boy is safe after finding his way inside a toy vending machine.

The whole event is still baffling to all those who found the child casually playing inside with stuffed animals.

An employee of a Lincoln, Nebraska bowling alley, snapped a memorable photo of the whole thing. She says a customer came up to her Monday night asking if someone had lost a child because there was one inside the Bear Claw.

Workers immediately called police and the vending machine company, who got the boy out unharmed. Rachell Hildreth one of the bowling companies employees was shocked.

"Just how did he get in there, that's pretty much what everyone was saying, how did he get in there, I guess the only thing we can think of is he crawled up where the prizes come out but it still seems a little impossible," says Hildreth.

According to officers, the child somehow left an unlocked apartment nearby and walked over to the bowling alley.

The child's mother had already called police to report the missing child.  She told officers she was in the bathroom and that the boy must have slipped out an unlocked door.

The Lincoln Police Department says they didn't ticket the mother because she acted quickly and that there's no indication of neglect.
