Posted: Updated:

The Red River Valley Woodcarvers are hosting their 39th Annual International Wood Arts Festival this weekend in Fargo at the Doublewood Inn. The event is offering four classes (beginning youth carving, eagle carving, gnome carving and featured carving), a 7 division competition, a silent and live auction.

Featured carver Rick Jensen, who is nationally known for his woodcarving, will be present. Jensen is originally from Crookston, Minnesota. There will be 35 exhibitors from all over the United States and Canada at this unique wood art show.

"I think it is an art form that is very accessible to people and very interesting to see the different kinds of woodcarving," says Red River Valley Woodcarver Show Chairmen Barry Kutzer.

The festival is being held on Saturday from 10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. -4:00 p.m. The cost is $3 for adults and $7 for families.
