The University of North Dakota is fine being called the underdog. If that's really how you see them. Following practice at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the team fielded several questions about taking on the top seeded Minnesota Golden Gophers.

"If people want to call us the underdog that's fine," said Rocco Grimaldi. "I mean we're here. It doesn't matter if you're the top seed or the underdog this time of year and all you have to do is win one game and you get another shot to win one more on Saturday night."

Most importantly for UND though, is the confidence they've collected as they spent a majority of the season unranked and recognized. They've believed in themselves from the beginning. So while they'll let you call them the underdog, they aren't hanging it in their locker room.

"Everybody's calling us underdogs but we earned our way here," explained Nick Mattson. "We're confident and we don't' necessarily feel like underdogs. We know what we have this room and I think if we just go out there and attack. Play loose, we'll be fine."

"There's a lot of confidence in that room," added captain Dillon Simpson. "I think that's carried a long way for us. A lot of people are counting us as the underdogs and so there's not a lot of pressure on us. You have to tell the guys to embrace it, have fun with it and at the end of the day just go play your best game of the year."
