NDSU Holds Annual Clothesline Project

Posted: Updated:

April is designated as Sexual Assault Awareness Month in the United Sates. The goal of the month is to raise public awareness about sexual violence and to educate communities and community members on how to prevent sexual violence.

North Dakota State University is raising awareness at the campus by providing its annual program called "The Clothesline Project." The program provides an outlet for women who have been affected by sexual and relationship violence to express their emotions by decorating a shirt. The shirts are then hung on a clothesline and viewed by others as a testimony to the problem of violence against women.

The Clothesline Project is located on the NDSU Campus at the Memorial Union building. The event runs until Friday and is open for the public to participate and view. Only those women affected by violence may decorate shirts.
