ORIGINAL STORY:

A 41-year-old Fosston, Minnesota, man died in an accident on the job on Tuesday. Mike Ross Larson, an employee at Hardwood Products in Bagley, Minnesota, died when his jacket became entangled in a large automatic door.

Police Chief Larry Peterson says Larson was standing next to the door when it started going up. The door measures roughly 40 feet wide and 20 feet high.  The employee's jacket became entangled and lifted him about halfway up before the door stopped.

The Bagley Police Department, Clearwater Sheriff's Office, Bagley Fire Department and Bagley Sanford Ambulance responded. The police chief said it was too late to save him by the time emergency personnel arrived. Larson was pronounced dead at the scene.

An investigation is being conducted by the Bagley Police Department in cooperation with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).

A family friend tells Valley News Live Mike Larson leaves behind a wife and five children.
