Two proposals circulating through the Minnesota capitol would cut the size of the state legislature in half.
Right now, Minnesota has the 5th largest legislature in the country, and more senators than any other State - That's a total of 201 lawmakers.
The bill's author, State Representative Bob Barrett, says the move would save about $10 million a year in salaries and other expenses.
And he'd be willing to have his job cut if it meant saving Minnesotans money.
A companion bill is being introduced in the senate this week.
