YMCA Training Young Runners

Posted: Updated:

The Fargo Downtown YMCA is doing something unique for the third year in a row. They're training and coaching children ages 6 to 13 that running can be fun.

It's a part of their Youth Running, Final Mile Marathon Club. The club meets on Mondays, 5:30-6:30 p.m. and 10:00-11:00 a.m. on Saturdays, doing a variety of running games and activities. As well as, coaching the kids on healthy eating and living.

The goal is that over the course of several weeks the young runners will log 25 miles and complete their final 26th mile at the youth run in May.

Registration for the class is still open but those who want to participate should sign up before April 7th. YMCA members can register for $15 and non-members for $20.

The downtown YMCA is located at 400 1st Ave. South in Fargo. Register at www.ymcacassclay.org
