Posted: Updated:

The North Dakota Lottery kicked off its ten year anniversary on Monday. The special event announced the completion of the installation of new lottery equipment and the launch of the North Dakota Lottery's new branding campaign.

The North Dakota Lottery conducts five, multi-state online games: Powerball, Mega Millions, Hot Lotto, Wild Card 2 and 2by2. Approximately twenty-three cents of every dollar lottery ticket sold is transferred to the North Dakota State General Fund. The North Dakota Lottery has transferred more than $56 million dollars to the State General Fund which benefits everyone who lives in, works in or visits the great state of North Dakota.

The Lottery recently updated all of its 400+ lottery retailer locations with new equipment. This equipment includes: new terminals, self-service ticket checkers, marketing LCD monitors, and large, brightly lit jackpot alert signs.

The North Dakota Lottery has also created a fresh, new look. The Lottery's logo has been enhanced, featuring a new, modern look while keeping some aspects of the original logo. The Lottery has also updated its branding message: "When you win, what you do is up to you. IMAGINE THE POSSIBILITIES!"

The first North Dakota Lottery ticket, Powerball, was sold on March 25, 2004. Through February 2014, North Dakota Lottery players have won more than $79 million dollars. These winnings include 269 2by2 jackpot winners (ranging from $20,000 to $44,000) and 17 Wild Card 2 jackpot winners (ranging from $100,000 to $1.6 million).

The North Dakota Lottery recently had two, one million dollar Powerball winners: one in March 2013, an anonymous winner from Wahpeton; and one in September 2013, an anonymous winner from West Fargo. North Dakota is one of six states that allow lottery winners to remain anonymous.
