Fargo Approves New Cable Provider

Posted: Updated:

FARGO, N.D. - Cable and phone customers in Fargo will soon have another choice. On Monday, city commissioners authorized regional cable provider Midcontinent Communications to begin offering their services in the city.

Midcontinent announced their intent to enter the Fargo market last November. At the time, they were hoping to begin construction as soon as the snow melts, with the first customers connecting next fall.

Midcontinent communications plans to bring service to 50 thousand homes in Fargo, and the full build-out will take three to four years. You can start signing up for service now, but Midcontinent has not yet said which neighborhoods will connect first.

Once in operation, Midcontinent Communications will be the sole competitor of Cable One in much of the community.
