Fargo School Special Election Is Over, What's Next?

Posted: Updated:

The Fargo School Board and administration will be figuring out what happens next after yesterday's special election item was voted down. With more than six thousand votes cast, just over 42% said "yes" and 57% said "no."

As leader look to next year's budget, they may have to make cuts in personnel, extra curricular's and enrichment classes.  The board can, but has not decide to call for another vote. If they do the board would look at changes to the question.

"now some of the changes that could take place would be maybe asking for a different mill authority certainly, those are all the things we need to analyze based upon the feedback at the polling places  but also the continued feedback from our constituents...so we will be listening," said school board member Robin Nelson.

The school district has until the end of 2015 to bring the mill levy question back to voters.
