Minnesota DNR Hosts Deer Listening Sessions

Posted: Updated:

With spring just around the corner, the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources and the Minnesota Deer Hunters Association is hosting several meetings for deer hunters to talk more about how deer fared this winter.

The DNR has been hearing concerns from several areas in the state that deer numbers are too low because of our extremely cold winter.

The meetings help hunters talk with those who directly manage decisions about deer in the state.

Sessions are scheduled for the following dates:

- Wednesday, March 19 at Central Lakes Community College cafeteria, 501 West College Drive, Brainerd.

- Thursday, March 20, Anoka Ramsey Community College rooms G201 and G202, 300 Spirit River Drive South, Cambridge

- Monday, March 24, Bemidji High School auditorium, 2900 Division St. West, Bemidji

-Tuesday, March 25, University of Minnesota's West Central Research and Outreach Center, 46352 Minnesota Highway 329, Morris.

-Thursday, March 27, Nicollet Conservation Club, 46045 471st Lane, Nicollet.

-Tuesday, April 1, Mesabi Range College auditorium, 1001 Chestnut St. West, Virginia.

All sessions will be held from 7 to 9 p.m.

The DNR will also be accepting online comments beginning March 19.
