Frozen Pipes Close Minnesota School

Posted: Updated:

Students and staff at Norman County East in Twin Valley, Minnesota, are getting an extended weekend with this Monday off. The school is closed because of frozen water pipes.

Many communities in Minnesota and North Dakota have been experiencing frozen pipe problems this season because of extended sub-zero temperatures pushing the frost line deeper than usual. Some towns have asked residents to keep water trickling from a faucet inside their homes to help prevent freeze-up, burst pipes and the extensive damage that can cause.
