Condition Of Crookston Carbon Monoxide Victim Improving

Posted: Updated:

There's finally some good news for Crookston family, who's mother and father died from carbon monoxide poisoning in their home Monday.

A relative tells Valley News Live that 22-year old Aryanna Ostgaard's condition is improving. She's been taken off life support and is now breathing on her own. Aryanna is even able to talk a little bit, according to her Aunt. However, she remains in guarded condition.

Aryanna's mother and father, Natalie and Kent Ostgaard were pronounced dead at their Crookston home on Monday from carbon monoxide poisoning. Authorities are looking at the possibility of a faulty propane furnace.

A second daughter, 17-year old Gabi Ostgaard was able to call 9-1-1 Monday morning and get authorities to the scene. Gabi was treated and released from a Crookston hospital that morning. A third daughter was in Duluth, attending college at the time of the tragedy.

The funeral service for Kent and Natalie Ostgaard has been scheduled for Saturday, March 8 at  2 p.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Crookston.  Visitation begins at noon.
