Healthier Me: Big Increase in Botox Requests at Sanford Health
Do you want to look less tired, sad or even angry? Who doesn't, right? Across the country and here in the valley, doctors are seeing a big bump in Botox requests.
Sanford Health dermatologist Dr. Yulia Khan says by the time you have significant wrinkles it may be too late to use Botox. So, she says the sooner the better when it comes to getting a little help for wrinkles.
Dr. Khan is a big advocate of Botox. She not only administers it -- she uses it herself.
Khan has seen a significant increase in the number of people wanting Botox at her Fargo clinic. And, she says it works! She says it's easy to tailor the treatments to individual patient's problem areas.
There is very little down time and she says patients are almost always happy with the results... as long as they don't wait too long to start. She says Botox doesn't always work very well on advanced wrinkles.
Botox is less expensive then it first was, which may also helping with its popularity. A unit will cost $10-12 each and you need about 20-30 units per treatment. When you crunch the numbers that's about $200-350 per treatment to make yourself look a little happier and less tired.
Most patients get treatments ever four to five months.
