Dickinson police have arrested the principal of Trinity High School in connection with a fire that broke out at the school early Monday morning. The fire heavily damaged the office area and the floor of the library above.
Police questioned 30-year-old Thomas Sander in the morning and then took him into custody. He faces charges of arson and endangerment by fire, and is being held at the South West Multi County Correctional Center.

The fire forced the cancellation of classes for the week and  the Region 7 basketball tournament has been moved to Dickinson High School.

Monsignor Patrick Schumacher says the school will remain closed for the rest of the year, and students will resume classes Monday in Dickinson public school buildings. Trinity faculty and staff will meet Wednesday morning to discuss the logistics. Bishop David Kagan will issue a statement from the Catholic Diocese on Wednesday.
