Fargo Commission to Reconsider Pub Approval

Posted: Updated:

It's back to the drawing board for a Fargo bar owner who wants to open up another bar next door and thought he could use his existing liquor license for both.

Dave Erickson, owner of the Bulldog Tap on 45th Street South, was given permission by the city in late July to expand his current liquor license. However, the city thought he was expanding the Bulldog Tap, not building a new Irish pub.

Other area bar owners questioned the earlier approval, so the proposal was brought before the city again tonight. The commission rescinded its July decision and will work with Erickson to try to come up with some kind of a solution in time for a projected mid-March opening date for the Irish pub.
