UPDATE: Hawley Baby Recovering After Nearly Drowning

MONDAY UPDATE

The Hawley Police Department released a statement Monday regarding the 10-month-old boy who nearly drown in the bathtub over the weekend. Police Chief Jimmy Macon made the following statement:

   "The Hawley Police Department is continuing their investigation into how a 10 month old boy nearly drowned in a bathtub. The young child is recovering in the hospital at this time.
    Police responded to a call on 7th Street in Hawley, where a mother found her baby submerged in the bathtub. The mother had been running the bath water, left the room to make coffee, and found the baby submerged when she returned to the bathroom.
    The Hawley Police Department is not releasing any names or the exact location at this time while they are investigating the incident."

Emergency crews were able to revive the baby before he was life-flighted to Sanford Health in Fargo on Saturday morning.

The Hawley Police Department says a 10-month-old boy was life-flighted to Sanford Health in Fargo this morning after a bath gone wrong.

Officers responded to the home, where a resident said their baby was underwater in the bathtub, face down. Police revived the boy and transported him to the hospital.

The Hawley Police Chief will hold a press conference on Monday regarding this incident.
