We managed to dodge a dangerous and massive storm that has made driving a complete nightmare in parts of Minnesota.
The State Patrol says between 2:00 Thursday afternoon and 10:00 Friday morning. Troopers responded to 404 crashes, including one that was deadly, and 32 that injured people.
More than 1,300 vehicles either spun out or went off the road because of the terribly slippery or icy conditions.
Governor Mark Dayton issued an emergency order in the wake of the snowstorm, directing the Minnesota National Guard to assist stranded motorists in Renville, Steele, and Freeborn Counties.
