Daytime Burglar Arrested in West Fargo

Posted: Updated:

A Fargo man was arrested on Monday after someone saw him entering homes in a West Fargo neighborhood. The West Fargo Police Department responded to a report of a suspicious person in the 1900 block of 3rd Avenue East in West Fargo just after 3:30 p.m.

The caller said a man in a tan jacket appeared to be checking for unlocked doors throughout the neighborhood. Officers saw the man leaving a home in the 2100 block of 5th Avenue East. Once the suspect saw the police officers, he went back into the home and refused to answer the front door.

The male was later seen trying to leave through the back door, but once again went back into the home when he saw officers in the backyard. The West Fargo Police K9 Officer responded to the home and entered the residence. The suspect, Rick Gregory Nogowski, 29, Fargo refused to surrender and was bitten by the police dog.

Nogowski was transported to Essentia Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. He was arrested for burglary and a Cass County warrant for possession of narcotics in a correctional facility.
