Updated 5:30pm:

The sound of WE Fest is changing as a new radio station takes over sponsorship.Today Great Plains Integrated Marketing announced they will be the new WE Fest official sponsors.

"Ever since 8 am this morning we've been pretty much talking about it every time we crack the microphone." says Bo Daniels with Thunder 106.1.

Friday mornings announcement of the multi-year contract says they will be the new voice for the three day country music festival.

"We play a ton of WE Fest artists here so it's easy for us to brag and talk about it." Bo says with a smile.

Froggy 99.9 didn't renew their contract this year, and Bob 95 didn't show an interest according to WE Fest Representatives.

"Things change and they felt it was time to move on I guess." says Bob Bliss the COO of F.A.C.E Concerts, "Bob had every opportunity to come to the plate as well and I guess there didn't seem to be any interest on that side neither."

We reached out to Froggy 99.9 for a comment on this story, but our messages were not returned.

Thunder 106.1 started in November of 2010, and the company knows it has a tough task ahead.

"we know we're the little guys. we're the little local guys and we don't mind that but we're prepared and ready for this we've been talking about it for a few weeks now," Bo says, "we're not nervous at all. this is a huge opportunity and we know we can take it!"

This year WE Fest is August 7th, 8th, and 9th. If you want tickets just visit the web page by clicking here
