Roads Closed, Travel Difficult Thursday Morning

Posted: Updated:

Blowing snow and icy roads are making for difficult travel conditions around the Valley Thursday morning.

The North Dakota Department of Transportation Closed I-94 between Jamestown and Valley City from 5:00 to 8:00 a.m. because of several crashes blocking in the highway.

A Travel Alert has also been issued for much of eastern North Dakota including the cities of Fargo, Wahpeton, Jamestown, Valley City, Ellendale, Edgeley, Grand Forks, Drayton, Pembina and surrounding areas.

A Travel Alert means conditions are such that motorists can still travel in these areas, but should be advised of rapidly changing conditions. Motorists are encouraged to reduce speeds and drive according to the conditions.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation has not issued any travel alerts or warning so far but says driving conditions difficult in Clay and Wilkin counties due to strong wind and blowing snow.

All travelers are encouraged to monitor road conditions as weather conditions occur and use caution while traveling.
