MSUM Public Safety Department wants to warn students of a male who allegedly harassed a female on campus Tuesday night.

From the MSUM Public Safety Department:

This warning is provided to inform and to educate the campus community of reported crimes that have happened on or near our campus and to comply with the Federal requirements of the Clery Act.
The MSUM Public Safety Department responded to a report of a female student being harassed by an unknown male on campus Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at approximately 7:40 PM.

The male approached the female at the 14th St. S. crosswalk; he turned and followed her to the east entrance of East Snarr.  While following the female the male tried to engage her in general conversation, he told her he is a student at MSUM and lives off campus.  As the female approached the door to East Snarr the male began to ask her questions of a sexual nature to include the possibility of using force against her.  As the female entered East Snarr the male tried to follow her in but she was able to get the door closed behind her.
The male is described as follows: African American, approximately 5'6"-5'8" tall, short hair, wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt with a yellow-tannish vest over the sweatshirt.
If you see anyone fitting this description or are approached in a similar fashion call MSUM Public Safety at 477-2449 or 911.
If for any reason you feel uncomfortable walking anywhere on our campus, contact the Public Safety office at 218-477-2449 or 2449 from a campus phone and we will provide a security escort 24 hours a day.
