West Fargo Police say a 34 year old man was injured Monday when his right arm became caught in a soil boring auger.

Police say Nicholas Prochnow from West Fargo was performing soil testing for Northern Technologies of Fargo at the time. Prochnow sustained injury to his right hand and arm and was transported to Essentia Hospital by FM Ambulance.

The incident happened in the 3300 block of 5th St W in West Fargo at around 4:00 PM. Construction is occurring on several new apartment buildings in the area of the accident.

Preliminary investigations indicate Prochnow's clothing may have caught on the auger that he was operating drawing him into the machine.

Fellow employees were able to free Prochnow prior to the ambulance arriving.
