Updated Story 5:30pm:

A rude awakening for Moorhead neighbors when a man knocked on several doors at four in the morning. That man had all sorts of stories as to why he was waking Moorhead residents up, including posing as a police officer.

"I've lived in this neighborhood for 40 years and we've never had anything like this!" says Mavis Lysaker. "I looked at the clock and the doorbell was ringing and it was 4:04."

She and other neighbors in Moorhead weren't ready to start their day so early.

"I was afraid to answer the door." Mavis says.

"5-6 different houses that were awaken this morning around 4 a.m. to a male standing at their door, either ringing the door bell, or banging on the door to wake them up." says Lt. Tory Jacobson with the Moorhead Police Department.

The man was telling people anything from he was a sheriff to a police on a disturbance call. Mavis sent her husband to the door incase it was their Granddaughter coming in from out of town.

"He opened the door like what do you want," Mavis says, "and he said 'How is everything?' or 'Are you okay?' or 'What's going on?' and Will said yes everything is fine and he shut the door."

"He was never convincing to any of the people." Lt. Jacobson says.

Moorhead Police caught up and arrested Ivan Ronald Lonechild Jr. who had a warrant out for his arrest for DWI. He now faces more charges including impersonating a police officer and disorderly conduct.

Police came back to Mavis's home around 5 a.m. to get her and her husbands statement and to tell neighbors they did make an arrest.

"He said well we got him, we got him! I was so glad." Mavis says with a smile

Happy and hoping she and her neighbors won't be woken at 4 a.m. again.

Police urge people to call anytime anything suspicious happens in your neighborhood.
