A big day for Roseau senior hockey player Zach Yon as he announced on his twitter account he has committed to play hockey at the University of North Dakota.
Yon has 29 goals and 30 assists in 22 games this season. He's totaled 89 goals and 85 assists in his three year's of varsity action as a Ram.
Yon was also named a 2014 Mr. Hockey finalists today. He is just the fourth Roseau Ram to become a finalist: following Bill Lund (1990), Derrick Byfuglien (1999) & Aaron Ness (2008).
Zach's father Bill was a Minnesota Gopher hockey player, and tells Valley News Live Sports he's very proud and excited for his son's commitment.
