Updated 3:50 p.m. Tuesday:

A Finley, North Dakota woman is facing a pending murder charge in connection with the death of her husband.

60-year old Sherry Midstokke is being held at the Cass County Jail on a murder charge. Authorities found her husband, 66-year old Lyle Midstokke dead in their Finley home yesterday.  Authorities say they found Lyle's body in a bedroom, after Sherry called 911 to report her husband was dead at 7:30 Monday morning.

Reporter: "Did Sherry try to make the crime scene look like an accident?"

Sheriff Wayne Beckman: "At this time we're not releasing any other information. It's still an ongoing investigation."

Reporter: "It appears he died of a gunshot wound?"

Beckman: "At this time we're not giving any other details."

The Sheriff says an autopsy is being conducted to determine the exact cause of death. He also says the couple did not have a history of domestic violence.

Neighbors say Lyle Midstokke worked for an area farmer and his wife, Sherry worked at area nursing homes. Neighbor, Connie Hanson says, she just can't believe something like this happened here.

Reporter: "Nice couple? Nice neighbors?"

Connie Hanson, Neighbor: "Oh, yes. Lyle is such a nice fellow. We really like him. Ah… we've just been in shock, really sad, sad all day yesterday."

Reporter: "No motivation for this? Who knows?"

Sheriff Wayne Beckman: "It's still under investigation. We're still working on the case."

Beckman says since the couple was alone at the time of the incident, they may never know exactly what motivated it, unless Sherry Midstokke gives the full story to authorities.

The criminal complaint in the case is expected to be filed soon should reveal more details about the case.

The Midstokke's have 3 grown children.
