Updated Story 6:15pm:

Moorhead Police have stopped a suspected car prowler from targeting even more people. Around 1:30 this morning a man was spotted going through a car parked in a driveway on the 3700 block of 4th Street South.

Officers caught Theodore Henry III and arrested him for a number of charges including theft, tampering with a motor vehicle, and fleeing police and possession of burglary tools.

Barking dogs woke up a man from this neighborhood while a Henry was sneaking around. The neighbor called the police department right away.

"He did the right thing, he didn't scare the person off, he didn't try to confront him or have a confrontation like that." Says Lt. Tory Jacobson with the Moorhead Police Department.

When officers arrived Henry took off, but officers were positioned to catch him right away. Henry had a hammer and a backpack with stolen items inside.

"He had property on him that was from more than just this persons car, you know it isn't that he had so much in his backpack, it's just he had items that didn't belong to him." Lt. Jacobson says.

Although they've caught the suspect police are still trying to find out how many people were victims.

"That's not his property, he had no business, and many of us are offended by taking your stuff." Lt. Jacobson says.

He and residents in Moorhead say the one way to protect yourself is by locking your car.

"Be more observant of what's going on in your neighborhood," says Shirley  "lock your doors, even during the day when you are home it's a good idea to lock your doors."

If you live around that area and noticed some items missing from your car call the Moorhead Police Department at 701-451-7660.
