Suspicious Man Enters Four Fargo Schools

Posted: Updated:

Fargo Schools made a late morning call to police after a man walked into four different schools, registered as a visitor and asked to see the lost and found.

Fargo Police Lt. Joel Vettel tells Valley News Live the schools thought the activity was suspicious in nature and notified them immediately.

Fargo officers were able to quickly identify the man and determined he was going from school to school looking for free clothes. Vettel says a complaint for misdemeanor theft was written up and will be turned over to the city prosecutor's office.

The schools never went into lockdown and no children were harmed. Police say Fargo Schools did the right thing by notifying them of suspicious activity and that procedures in place to catch this type of activity worked.
