Moorhead Dumps The Forum For The FM Extra As "Newspaper of Record"

Posted: Updated:

The Moorhead city council has decided that they will no longer use The Forum newspaper as the city's "newspaper of record." The city uses newspapers to post legal announcements. Leaders say they will use the FM Extra instead. The FM Extra is published in Moorhead.

Moorhead city manager Mike Redlinger couldn't come up with an exact cost savings for the taxpayer for posting in the FM Extra instead of the Forum. However he did indicate that between $200,000 and $300,000 are spent by the city each year in newspaper related announcements.

The FM Extra has a weekly circulation of 45,000. Calls to the Forum for comment on this story were not returned.
