Major Highways & Interstates Re-Opened

Plow crews worked through the night and morning trying to clear roads closed by Sunday's blizzard and early Monday morning that work is starting to pay off for drivers.

The North Dakota Department of Transportation and the North Dakota Highway Patrol have OPENED I-29 from the Canadian Border to the South Dakota Border.

I-94 is OPENED from Bismarck to Fargo and the Minnesota Department of Transportation has opened the interstate from Moorhead to Alexandria.

ND HWY 13 is OPENED from I-29 to Wahpeton.

Highway 10 from Moorhead to Detroit Lakes is also now OPENED

And Highway 210 from Breckenridge to Fergus Falls at OPENED at 9 a.m. Monday. 

NDDOT has also LIFTED the No Travel Advisories for North Dakota including the cities of Devils Lake, Grand Forks, Bismarck, Jamestown, Valley City, Fargo, Wahpeton, and the surrounding areas.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation and the Minnesota State Patrol opened Highway 2 from East Grand Forks to Crookston at 6 a.m. Monday. 

Highways now open include:

  • Highway 2
  • Highway 11 near Hallock
  • Interstate 94 from Moorhead to Alexandria
  • Highway 10 from Moorhead to Detroit Lakes
  • Highway 210 from Breckenridge to Fergus Falls

Highways still closed include:

  • Highway 9 North of Ada
  • Highway 200 East of Ada

Even with road reopening Current driving conditions vary from hazardous to fair and motorists should still use extreme caution when traveling.

Officials remind motorists to be patient while snowplow operators work to improve driving conditions and prepare for additional snowfall.

The majority of snowplow crashes take place during "clean up" when motorists resume their normal speeds.
