UND Women Fall in Shootout

Posted: Updated:

Despite shooting 63 percent as a team and getting a career-high 29 points from sophomore transfer Makailah Dyer, visiting North Dakota fell 110-104 at Sacramento State Thursday in Big Sky Conference play. The Hornets hit 15 of 42 three-point attempts and scored 61 in the second half alone to help break a league record for points.

Dyer, making her first start in the absence of sophomore Mia Loyd who is nursing a leg injury, made 11 shots from the floor and hit all six of her free throw attempts to lead the way for UND. Two different North Dakota players etched double-doubles as senior Madi Buck collected 22 points and 10 rebounds while junior Emily Evers came off the bench to contribute 10 points and 10 boards.

North Dakota (11-6, 6-2 Big Sky) falls a half-game behind Montana State in the Big Sky Conference standings after the Bobcats secured their sixth straight win Thursday (at Weber State). UND will face Northern Arizona Saturday evening with tip coming at 7:30 Central.
