A rural Kathryn, North Dakota, woman faces three misdemeanor charges following an investigation into a complaint of dead horses on a pasture near Kathryn.

Barnes County Sheriff Randy McClaflin says Ginger Helland was charged with animal neglect, animal abuse and improper disposal of animal carcass after 8 dead horses were found on one of her pastures in December.

McClaflin says the State Animal Veterinarian office and North Dakota Stockmen's Association assisted in this investigation.
