Some In West Fargo Say Mail Not Consistent

Posted: Updated:

Some people in West Fargo say they are fed up with their mail service. A few of them gave us a call, blowing the whistle on the West Fargo Postal Service. They say their mail is never consistent if it comes at all.

We spoke with one woman who says lately her whole block has only been getting mail a couple times a week. She says she called the post office many times, but the issue has not been resolved. She's not alone; many others in the area say they have been experiencing inconsistent mail as well.

Another woman owns a business in West Fargo, and she says ever since this summer her mail comes late, sometimes not at all. She tells us, "It's very frustrating as a business, as we rely on the mail for customer payments for the services we have provided for them."

We visited the West Fargo Post Office today; they could not do an on camera interview. But, spokesman Pete Nowackie says the cold temperatures are certainly a factor. Mail carriers are working long hours, sometimes they are outside more than 11 hours a day.

But there could be more behind the slow down.

Nowackie adds safety is number one and service is a close second. They are doing everything they can to provide the service their customers have come to expect.

Nowackie says they are always adjusting to new problems when they arise he didn't say there was one specific cause for this problem, but we will update you when we know more.
