Posted: Updated:

A Grand Forks man has been arrested after police say he tried to lure minors over the Internet. The Grand Forks Police Department received a complaint and after investigating, 29-year-old Eric Scott Sansburn was identified.

Sansburn was arrested and charged with one count each of Luring Minors by Computer or Other Electronic Means, Possession Child Pornography and Sexual Assault.

Through the investigation, several victims in the Grand Forks region and beyond were identified. On January 14, additional charges were filed to include nine additional counts of Possession of Child Pornography; four additional counts of Luring Minors by Computer or Other Electronic Means and two counts of Gross Sexual Imposition.  All victims involved in this investigation are females between the ages of thirteen and seventeen years old.

Authorities say Eric Sansburn created multiple accounts on the social media website meetme.com, formerly known as myyearbook.com, and used these accounts to meet and interact with underage females.

Two of these accounts have been identified by the user names "Erik Esslind" and "That One Guy You Think You Know".  Sansburn also used the applications Kik Messenger and Snap Chat under the username "burnrr" and the application Whisper under the username "Shooter".

The Grand Forks Police Department encourages parents to speak with their children and determine if they had any online interactions with Eric Sansburn or any of these usernames or accounts.  If it is believed someone had contact with these accounts they are asked to contact the Grand Forks Police Department at 701.787.8000.
