Former NDSU quarterback Brock Jensen tweeted Wednesday he signed with an agent, Ryan Smith, of 7 Sports Group. The signing sends the all time winningest FCS quarterback to San Diego to live with a group of football players all joining him in the pursuit of their dreams: to become NFL football players. Jensen is the only quarterback in the group.
7 Sports Group includes quarterback coaches George Whitfield Jr. and Steve Calhoun. Jensen tells Valley News Live in a one-on-one sit down with Sports Director Jamal Spencer that he isn't sure who he'll work with specifically but either way he is excited for the opportunity.
Jensen met Whitfield when ESPN College GameDay was in Fargo in September and says he's been in contact with him.
The time in San Diego will be an 'eat, sleep and breath' football situation for the three time FCS National Champion. He says they'll work out six days a week and have personal trainers; plus position specific coaches all to prepare them for the NFL pro test day. Jensen's test day will either be at NDSU in February or in Madison at a later date. Possibly both.
Jensen tells Valley News Live this is a dream come true but not just a dream. It's something he's always wanted and is in a position to prove he is capable of competing for a spot at the next level.
