Mister Money Owners Robbed Twice in 3 Months

Posted: Updated:

Police are still searching for two robbers from Tuesday's holdup in South Fargo. Owners of Mister Money say, in all of their years in business, this one and another armed robbery in November are their only incidents.

Valley News Teams Kristi Larson talked with the owners about the crimes they've seen.

"We were very shocked." Ruth Kapaun the owner of Mister Money says right away.

Tuesday morning just before 10 am two men wearing black clothing came charging into Mister Money pointing a gun at employees and ordering them for money.

"It just seemed unbelievable that someone would be that braisen and hold someone up in the broad daylight." Ruth says

Just a few months ago the West Fargo location was robbed at gunpoint. Police say it is similar to what happened Tuesday morning. It's something in Ruth's 17 years of business she has never come across.

"In the last less than two months there's been five armed robberies in Fargo, Moorhead, West Fargo area, that to me is shocking." Ruth says.

Ruth and her husband own four Mister Money's in North Dakota, and they worry for their employees safety. One of their female employees was there when both the armed robberies happened.

"It needs to be a place where an employee can come and feel safe, and it's not right that criminals can cause someone to feel victimized and to cause them fear when they're just coming to their job and just doing their work." Ruth says shaking her head.

Although she says she trusts the police, her and her husband hope by spreading the word it will help catch the men who robbed their family-owned business.

"We would really hope that the public would call law enforcement and tell them if they have any suspicions about anyone that's in the community that could possibly be involved." Ruth says.

ATF is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.
