Healthier Me: Sanford Health Delivers a Record Number of Babies

Posted: Updated:

Get ready to throw a huge baby shower!  A record number of babies were born at Sanford Health in Fargo in 2013.

2,542 babies were delivered and that's nearly 80 more than last year. Sanford Health says it was prepared for the baby fever.  They added five new doctors and more than 20 nurses to prepare their nurseries for the rush.

They had to add staff, but also supplies for all of those extra babies.

Fun facts:

6,469,260 diapers (7/day/baby)

1,386,270 hours of crying (1.5/day/baby)

82,290 loads of laundry (4 onesies & 1 blanket/baby/day = .5 loads/baby/day)

If you were to line up all 2500+ babies, feet to head, the string would reach from the Sanford Medical Center, down Broadway all the way to the Old Broadway (17 in x 2532 = .68 miles)
