UPDATE: St. Michael Woman Killed in Crash Near Devils Lake

The North Dakota Highway Patrol says Maxine Paul, 54, of St. Michael was killed in a car crash near Devils Lake when William Waanatan, 40, of Tokio, ND lost control of the wheel and drove into an oncoming lane. Paul was pronounced dead at Mercy Hospital. Waanatan was air flighted to Grand Forks. Neither were wearing seatbelts at the time.

A 54-year-old woman from St. Michael, North Dakota died yesterday evening in a car crash near Devils Lake.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol says a 40-year-old man from St. Michael was driving the 1989 Oldsmobile that lost control on Highway 20 where it collided with Chad Olefin, 37, driving a Ford Taurus.
Tollefson's vehicle hit the Oldsmobile at the passenger door, where the woman was sitting. She was taken to Mercy Hospital where she was pronounced dead. Her driver was air flighted to Grand Forks. His charges are pending, though his condition isn't known.
